The 2009 Walkley finalists

Below are the details of all finalists in the 54th Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism.

The finalists were announced in stages: photographic finalists were announced on Monday October 12, 2009. Business finalists were announced at a lunch on Tuesday October 13. And the rest of the finalists, including the long-list of finalists in the Walkley Non-Fiction Book Award, were announced in the evening of Wednesday October 14.

Finalists were divided according to the following media categories:
