The Raffle supports the work of the Alliance Safety & Solidarity Fund in the Asia-Pacific Region, which provides press freedom campaigns and emergency assistance to journalists who put themselves on the front line in the battle for a free media and free expression. The Centenarian Single Barrel Reserve Eden Valley Shiraz 2008 from Poonawatta Estate. From one of Australia’s oldest vineyards comes a rare wine recently awarded an outstanding 96 points by James Halliday, who described it as “an extremely powerful wine with intense focus to its black fruits, which have revelled in 22 months’ maturation in new French oak; still in its infancy, and deserves another 10, if not 20, years’ maturation.’’ Only 300 bottles made from vines planted 130 years ago.
