Walkley Documentary Touring Program

Walkley Documentary Touring Program

As with the Australian and international writers festivals, the Walkley Foundation partners with film and cultural festivals to showcase the work of documentary film-makers drawn from winners and finalists of the Walkley Documentary Award.

Mumbai International Film Festival – January 2016

In collaboration with the Mumbai International Film Festival and the Australia-India Council we will be showcasing the work of the 2015 Walkley Documentary longlisted finalists at special event screenings in Mumbai this January. Over the two nights of January 29 & 30 all six longlisted films will be screened at a special Australian documentary event at MIFF. Travelling to the festival for the event will be Harry Bardwell, executive producer of Prison Songs ( shortlisted for the 2015 Walkley Documentary Award). Harry will participate in a number of Q&A and speaking events through the festival.

Stories From Australia – Delhi

In July 2015, we hosted our biennial Stories for Australia Documentary Festival in New Delhi in partnership with the India International Centre. The festival runs for three days and showcases the past two years of documentary winners and finalists. In 2015 we took with us award winning filmmakers Pat Fiske and Martin Butler. The festival continues to be a great success and we look forward to repeating it in 2017.

Australian Documentary Film Festival – Chennai India, August 2015

The Walkley Foundation was also invited to collaborate with the Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) to showcase the work of our past Walkley Documentary winners and finalists. In August 2015 a showcase of 8 films were screened at the Australian Documentary Film Festival.
