Moderator Kirsten Andrews, head of media and PR, University of Sydney

Kirsten Andrews is the Head of Media and PR at the University of Sydney. Prior to that, she worked as National Media Communications Manager for the National Heart Foundation and for Federal and State Labor MPs, including as Chief of Staff to Federal Minister Tony Burke and Deputy Director of Communications to NSW Premier, Morris Iemma.

Kirsten sits on the Board of St George Community Transport and runs a blog at www.workingmumsaustralia.com.au, where she has built a community where mums discuss everything from the Family Tax Rebate to what to do with your kids’ art from day care. She has also been active in the campaign for an Australian Republic and was elected as an ARM delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1998.

Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies (Hons) from the University of South Australia.
