Freelance Journalist of the Year Application

Open to residents of Australia and New Zealand, the Freelance Journalist of the Year Award recognises the unique and growing contribution to the profession freelance journalists make across media platforms.

Winners are chosen on the basis of journalistic excellence from a body of work (up to five pieces) published or broadcast in any medium. Judges consider resources available and effort expended as well as newsworthiness; research; writing; production; incisiveness; impact; public benefit; ethics; originality; innovation; and creative flair.
