GET INVOLVED:#30DAYS OF PRESS FREEDOM

The Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA), the union and industry advocate for Australia’s journalists, is once again joining with the Walkley Foundation and the International Federation of Journalists for the annual #30Days of Press Freedom campaign.
In addition to the year-round, industry-wide press freedom advocacy that MEAA spearheads, the #30Days campaign tells the story of press freedom in the lead up to World Press Freedom Day on May 3.
The #30Days campaign is an initiative run by members, for members. If you have an idea for an event or an action that you think would be a perfect way to highlight the ongoing fight for press freedom in Australia and our region, we want to hear from you.
- Send a photo from your newsroom or place of work with your colleagues holding the #30Days poster to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can use a pre-written message or write your own. The posters can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/30DaysToolkit
- Contribute to our social campaign. Over the 30 days leading up to World Press Freedom Day we will be sharing articles, blog posts, photos, stories and other work from our members that promotes the fight for press freedom. If you have had work published on the topic over the last 12 months that you would like us to share please send copies or links to email@example.com
- Support the Media Safety and Solidarity Fund by selling 2015 Press Freedom raffle tickets. All members should receive their raffle booklets soon, for extra booklets and details on this year’s great prizes head to: com/press-freedom-raffle
- Like and share during the campaign. We urge all members to follow the campaign on the #30Days hashtag on Twitter and via the campaign’s Facebook page.
