Contributing Editor, The Big Issue Australia
Patrick Witton is a Melbourne-based editor and journalist. He has a degree in Media Studies (Flinders University, Adelaide), and is a graduate of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology’s Professional Writing & Editing diploma and Indonesian language certificate. He has worked and studied extensively across Asia, including undertaking a 12-month scholarship in Bandung (Indonesia), updating Lonely Planet’s city guide to Hong Kong, and chairing a seminar on cause-driven journalism at UNTAG University in Surabaya (Indonesia). He has worked extensively for Melbourne newspaper The Age as an editor and journalist for its arts, culture and cuisine sections. Patrick is currently Contributing Editor at The Big Issue Australia: a five-person operation for a national publication (it has a sister publication in Seoul, The Big Issue Korea, which he looks forward to visiting). Patrick lives with his partner and five-year-old daughter, and likes K-pop and kimchi.
