Judges’ comments:

“Through dogged investigation and journalistic smarts Anthony has produced a truly cracking page one piece on Karl O’Callaghan that has great impact to the victims of the Perth Hills bushfires. His willingness to push for the truth is an inspiration to journalists of any age. His pieces on Fremantle Hospital suicides demonstrate his ability to tackle extremely difficult issues, deftly treading the kind of territory that forces change for the better.”
