Sydney’s listed screen gem The Chauvel has been operating in the historic Paddington Town Hall since 1977. Formerly the Paddington Town Hall ballroom (the fully sprung floor remains under the seats) the Cinema One auditoria boasts a stunning barrel-vaulted ceiling with proscenium arch stage. The cinema has long been the spiritual home of Australian film culture, a gathering place for true film lovers to share their passion for the best of independent and world cinema.

Getting to Chauvel
Sydney City: Bus 378 from Central (Railway Square) or 380, 333 from Circular Quay or Elizabeth Street stop directly opposite the cinema. Alight at Paddington Town Hall.
Eastern Suburbs: Buses 380 and 333 from Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction stops outside the cinema.
Inner West- Bus 352 from Marrickville & Newtown travels to the cinema direct via Sydney University.
Paid parking is available at the St Vincent’s Hospital Car Park (access via Victoria Street), a 15 minute walk from the cinema.
Parking hours are Mon – Thu 6.30am to 11.30pm; Fri & Sat 6.30am to 1.30am; Sun 6.30am to midnight.
