A guide to creating your own “Newspaper in a box”
If you’ve always thought you can do it better than the newspapers but didn’t know where to start, here’s the website for you.
Journalism 2.0 author Mark Briggs has created “Newspaper in a box”, a step-by-step guide to creating an independent news website from scratch.
Developed into four steps – plan it, build it, present it and promote it – Briggs pulls together tips and links to free online services to help you incorporate images, audio and video.
Presented by J-Learning, an online guide for creating hyper-local community media and a project of J-Lab: The Institute for Interactive Journalism, the site emphasises accessibility and open-source technology.
Is yours the news website of the future? If you create something, we’d love to hear about it.
