Camerawork
Ella Rubeli (@EDRubeli) is a photojournalist. Joining the philanthopically funded start-up The Global Mail before its launch in February 2012, she covered a wide range of subjects, from tuberculosis to taxidermy. While particularly interested in multimedia story-telling, in addition to shooting stills and videos, Ella also likes to break out into the written word. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Technology, Sydney and also studied a semester of journalism, multimedia and world politics at the Danish School of Journalism and spent six months as an intern at The Sydney Morning Herald.

“Ella Rubeli’s entry was everything the judges were looking for. It was a wonderfully confronting piece of camerawork with a good selection of carious shots. You can see the dedication, enthusiasm and creativity of this young videographer by how well it was researched, composed and shot. It was a pleasure to watch this entrant’s work. It was the standout.”
