The Walkley Public Fund for Journalism

Two children on the way home from school hide from the heat, smoke and flames form a quick fire that started in Rockwood Cemetery. Nick Moir / Sydney Morning Herald.

The Walkley Foundation is leveraging its reputation and position at the heart of the media industry to ensure that Australians continue to benefit from the groundbreaking public interest journalism so important to our communities. We are working to make the bonds of trust between the media and the public stronger than ever.

What are we funding?

The industry needs more from us, and to provide that kind of support, we need your help to grow the Public Fund. Join us by making a tax-deductible donation to build a news ecosystem that is thorough, fair, far-reaching and trusted. We owe it to future generations of Australians.

How you can support great Australian journalism:

We’ve set a goal of raising $1 million by the end of 2019. Help us reach this goal with a donation.

The Walkley Foundation Ltd (ABN: 164 809 349) has Deductible Gift-Recipient Status. This means that we are a company, limited by guarantee, that is able to accept donations. Those donations are 100% tax-deductible for the donor.
